Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about how Bidadari Drop works, what it protects and what it does not.
The basics
What is Bidadari Drop?
A simple way to send one file to someone for a short time. You upload a file, get a link, and the file is removed when it expires or when its download limit is reached. It is not cloud storage.
How long are files kept?
You choose: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1, 3, 6, 12 or 24 hours, 3 days or 7 days. The default is 24 hours. Nothing is kept longer than 7 days.
What happens after expiry?
The link stops working straight away. The stored copy is then removed from the active server storage by an automatic cleanup that runs every few minutes.
Do I need an account?
No. There are no accounts. You get a share link for the recipient and a separate private management link for you.
Sharing and limits
Can I revoke a Drop early?
Yes. After creating a Drop you get a private management link. Open it to see the status and revoke the Drop, which deletes the file immediately. The management link is shown only once, so copy it if you may need it.
How does the download limit work?
You can allow 1, 3, 5 or 10 downloads. A download is counted the moment it starts, even if it does not finish, so a one-time Drop cannot be fetched twice. When the limit is reached the file is deleted.
Can recipients upload files?
No. Recipients can only download the file you shared.
Why can I share only one file at a time?
Keeping each Drop to a single file keeps the service simple and limits what can go wrong. To send several files, create a separate Drop for each one.
Can the recipient keep a downloaded copy?
Yes. Once someone downloads a file, Bidadari cannot control or delete the copy on their device.
Passwords
Can I add a password?
Yes, optionally. The password is not part of the link, so share it through a different channel, such as a call or another chat app. Too many wrong attempts are temporarily blocked.
How do I choose a good password?
Use the "Suggest a strong password" button. It creates a random 16-character password in your browser. Longer and more random is stronger. Avoid names, dates and common words. The strength bar is a rough estimate to guide you, not a guarantee.
Security and privacy
Are files publicly searchable?
No. There is no public directory, no search and no listing. Only someone who has the link can reach a Drop.
Are files scanned for malware?
Bidadari Drop does not scan files and does not claim that files are malware-free. It limits risk by allowing only certain file types, storing files privately where they cannot be run, and always serving them as downloads. Only open files from people you trust.
Is my file encrypted?
Files are encrypted on the server's private storage. This is encryption at rest, not end-to-end encryption: the service handles your file while it is uploaded and downloaded. Do not rely on it for secrets you would not trust a server with.
Does Bidadari Drop track me?
No analytics, no advertising and no third-party scripts. The only cookies are short-lived functional ones for the upload form and operator sign-in. Your light or dark choice is kept in your browser only.
What is the difference between Bidadari Drop and Bidadari Seal?
Bidadari Seal is for short secret text such as passwords, PINs and API keys, and is deliberately text only. Bidadari Drop is for files such as PDFs, Office documents, images and text files. Do not send passwords or keys as files here; use Bidadari Seal.
